Gasa Tshechu is the biggest festival in this small district of Gasa in northwestern Bhutan. Gasa is home to Bhutan’s western highland communities. The festival comprises of mask dances, performed by the both the monks and lay dancers similar to other Tshechu around the country. Their folk dances, however, are unique and are performed by the locals. Gasa also have several hot-springs that are frequented by people from around the country, especially during the winter months.
